Getting back into photography
My journey with photography has been a long and unpredictable one. After stepping away to focus on a new career, I’m finally ready to return to it with fresh perspective and energy.
For those who don’t know me, I used to work as a photographer and director, primarily with musical artists. That experience shaped a lot of how I think creatively and personally. It played a bigger role in my growth than I probably realized at the time. I could go deeper into that, but that’s a story for another post.
Right now, I’m focused on a few key things:
- Side projects (coding)
- Running
- Photography
Eventually, I want to find a way to bring all three together. But for now, my priority is rebuilding my photography skills.
I’ve always loved shooting on film, but it’s been about three years since I last picked up a camera. Getting back into it hasn’t been as simple as I expected. My camera is fully manual, with way more dials, and locks, than a typical DSLR. And since it’s film, there’s no instant feedback.
It’s a slower process, but that’s part of what makes it meaningful. Right now, it’s all about relearning the fundamentals and getting comfortable behind the camera again.
